Still dreaming of this amazing meat pie topped with mashed potato, mushy peas and smothered in gravy! Stopped @peakedpies while in Whistler and loved it so much I immediately brought my mom to their West End location when we got back to town! Side-by-side comparison: Vancouver location has much more airy open table space while Whistler location has the tucked away & cozy vibe. Pies were consistent at both locations. I personally prefer my Whistler experience a bit more, there’s something about tucking into a hot pie at the end of a long and tiring day when you’re cold and hungry. Wow so many adorable things came together so seamlessly for Finnegans #4thbirthday! Who would have guessed a week ago I had absolutely nothing prepared? Thanks to Dan who folded itty bitty paper boxes at night while we watched #memoriesofthealhambra, they look amazing for how easy it was to put together plus Finn and his partner in crime Abigail went bonkers over handing the Batman favour boxes out to all the “guests”! Crepe paper is the definite winner and #tipoftheday, so simple to twirl and tape to the ceiling to make any space look like a party hall! At least I know that Finn appreciated it (he came in the room and said “Wow! Look at all the decorations!) but really all this crafting was so satisfying for me! #craftastherapy

Buffet and Santa 🎅, what a wonderful combo! . A little hesitant to go to a hotel buffet but us slowpokes didn’t book a community Breakfast with Santa before they all sold out! . 10/10 on organization, no lineups or melting down children. Above par on the face painting, balloon animals and keepsake crafts. Buffet was standard fare and Santa lacked a nice backdrop. We probably would not recommend as it’s a bit pricey for our tastes and we have just as much fun (or more) in a chaotic community centre setting 😭but for those of you looking for a more civilized Santa experience this is the way to go!

Stanley Park Bright Nights & Christmas Train! Finnegan was asleep for the first half of the night but we woke him up to get on the train. What a wonderful surprise to be woken up to! 🤗 . So much thanks to @chuenoi for buying tickets for us earlier in the day AND delivering them to our house so we didn’t have to wait in line or suffer all the sold out wait times! What would we silly unprepared people do without friends like her?! . #allthebrightplaces #christmasspirit #trainspotting

Come join us at @vandusengarden #festivaloflights! I’m volunteering Tues and Wed for two more weeks and Dan might be there on Monday’s. These are the best nights in my opinion. Barely any lineup, Finnegan was super lucky and got to go on the Carousel 7 times in a row (he literally got of the ride, ran around the fence and got on the same horse immediately for the next round 🤩). Come look for me and say hello to keep me company!! 🤪🥳🥰 #allthebrightplaces

All Aboard the Polar Express!! We had a great time at the West Coast Railway Heritage Park, thank hubby for the impromptu Xmas present because he forgot he had work and couldn’t go! . I never even knew they do a Polar Express theme Christmas train ride and Santa’s North Pole village! Get your Golden Ticket for an hour long train ride (be ready for hilarity as the train goes back and forth about 5 times!) serving hot cocoa, giant cookies and candy canes. The conductor came and punched our tickets like 100 times, we couldn’t figure out why he did this until we watched the movie, LOL. . Santa’s village was so beautiful. We loved the included mini train ride, craft station and miniature trains the kids can control. We skipped the line for Santa and Mrs. Claus photos but kinda regret it as the set looked amazing and so spacious. Highly recommend for family and large group photos as it’s laid out so well and not crowded like the mall Santa’s. . #polarexpress #allaboard #toddlersofinstagram #vancitybuzz
